Meetings:
Currently we meet on Sundays at 6 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Since we are an Acts 2 church, call to make sure where we will be meeting: 205.542.6099.
The dress is casual and informal with the emphasis on building relationships with God and each other. We begin with food and fellowship; followed by praise and worship; sharing God's word; and closing with prayer/ministry time. There is no pressure placed on anyone to do anything, so you may participate as you wish.
We are Metro FamilyLife Church so bring the entire family!
What We Believe
We believe there is one God who lives forever in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
We believe that the Bible is God's Word to the world, speaking to us with authority and without error. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ the Son, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His death for us on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father, and His personal, physical return to rule the earth in power and love. John 1:14-18; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
We believe that all mankind is lost in sin and needs to turn from it and trust personally in the Savior, Jesus Christ. All need to be born anew by the Holy Spirit's power into God's family. Ephesians 2:1-10; John 3:5-7
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in us as believers to change us into the image of Christ Jesus; working in us His character, the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
We believe the Holy Spirit is on us, working through His charismatic gifts, for others so they may be saved, healed, delivered, discipled, and sent out to repeat the process. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
We believe in the resurrection of every person: to eternal life for the believer and eternal judgment for the lost. Matthew 25:31-46
We believe in the unity for all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and seek community with the congregations of Metro Birmingham and the Nations. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
We believe we are to become more like Jesus, who is the head of His body, the church, in every way. Romans 8:29 AMP
We believe we are called to love Him and one another and are enabled to do this only as His life flows through us. Matthew 22:37-40
The Vision of Metro FamilyLife Church
The vision of MFLC is the generations worshiping and working together, while being transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, and transforming our world into the culture of Heaven.
The Mission of Metro FamilyLife Church
God has called us to raise up a radical army of believers, abandoned to a lifestyle of worship that fuels a passion to reach the world with the love and power of Jesus. He is using us to train a new breed, hungry for His presence, passionate about walking in truth, love, power and purity, and determined to transform cultures and change the world.
The Method of Metro FamilyLife Church
MFLC is a Holy Spirit led church, where we discover who we are and how God made us in an atmosphere of love. We learn how to stir up our gifts and step into our destiny, and are empowered to pursue the fullness of our calling with boldness and confidence. We discover the joy of hearing His voice and following His heart-partnering with the Holy Spirit to reach the lost, heal the sick, help the needy, and prophesy life into the poor and hurting. The result: generations of impassioned and equipped believers, grounded in the Word and ignited by the Spirit, invading the culture and bringing transformation with His love and power!
Our Twelve Core Values
- Metro FamilyLife Church belongs to God. He must be placed first and experienced in everything we do as we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- God loves us and calls us to love others. Love must permeate all our relationships and every aspect of church life.
- Lost people matter to God. The church must be culturally relevant, while remaining doctrinally pure, as we reach out to Metro Birmingham and the Nations with the Good News of God's unconditional love and forgiveness in Jesus.
- God draws us into relationship. Spending time with God and 'soaking' in His presence is essential to maintaining and keeping intimacy with Him and keeping in step with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
- God delights in our worship. Praising and worshipping God in spirit and truth must be a priority not only in our services but also throughout our lives as we pursue a lifestyle of obedience to God and His ways.
- The Bible is God's inspired Word. Anointed preaching and teaching are a vital catalyst for personal transformation and growth.
- God hears and answers prayer. Everything we do must be characterized by a dependence on prayer and intercession.
- Prayer ministry releases the life changing and miracle-working power of God, especially for the sick and broken hearted. We place a high priority on receiving prayer and praying for others.
- Fellowship is essential for building relationships and stimulating spiritual growth, and is a vital part of the life of the church.
- Families matter to God. We seek to provide an environment that affirms families and strengthens marriages and young people.
- Every believer is called to follow Jesus. We seek to encourage every member of the church (men, women, and children) in their service, stewardship and the pursuit of the whole-hearted devotion to Jesus and His kingdom.
- Every believer has a unique God-given ministry. We seek to encourage every member of the church (men, women, and children) to discover and develop their spiritual gifts.
